SPECIALIZED 2021

Specialized are the recognised industry leader in the field of eMTBs (an eMTB is a mountain bike with an integrated motor that assists the rider when pedalling). In the “legacy” cycling universe they dominate every space, winning Classic races, Grand Tours and being the bike of choice for every sporting and recreational cyclist.  When Specialized started developing their first electric bike, they knew it had to incorporate everything they’d learned since 1974. It had to ride and feel like a great bike first—something everybody really would love to ride. They wanted you to feel like you were on a “regular” bike, but somehow, you’d grown superhero legs. You can find out more here. This core mission still hasn’t changed. It’s now, and forever will be, Specialized promise for every Turbo:

It's You, Only Faster

SPECIALIZED COMO SL

The Specialized Turbo Como Super Light’s sophisticated design is ready to go whenever you are—day and night, rain or shine—with battery-powered integrated lights, fenders, and plenty of storage capability.

Riders will love the low-maintenance easy-ownership that comes with Specialized first Internal Gear Hub and Belt Drive E-bike. This system protects your bike’s working gears from the weather and road grime, extends their life up to four times that of a derailleur/chain drive, and eliminates chain grease completely. And you can shift gears anytime, yes, even when stopped—take that traffic lights.

The 320Wh battery is securely hidden in the downtube, making it almost indistinguishable from a regular bike at first glance. But on days when you want to do more, attach the optional Range Extender to go up to 120 miles before needing a recharge.

Trust us when we say, you’ll find yourself making up errands just so you can ride it again.

SPECIALIZED FULL SUSPENSION

Specialized design for the individual, and their philosophy is simple: Don’t make a difference where there isn’t one. When there is, they invest heavily in research and development. They’ll only make male- or female-specific products when there’s data to support the decision and a true performance benefit.

There are 3 main models in the FSR range – the Levo, The Levo Comp and the Levo Carbon Expert.

The new Turbo Levo brings the most advanced eMTB frame, motor and battery technology to as many riders as possible. They’ve taken their advanced M5 alloy chassis and the smoothest and most powerful motor on the market, and paired them with the most value-packed drivetrain, suspension and brake components available. The result is a bike that puts plenty of high-dollar eMTBs to shame.

The Levo’s frame features an M5 alloy front- and rear-end, an asymmetrical design, and our 29 Trail Geometry, so it’s just the right amount of both capable and comfortable. They designed this bike to shred and that meant giving the Levo a low bottom bracket, lengthy top tube, and short chainstays. They also tweaked the kinematics of the frame to make the suspension more supple on small hits and yet perfectly capable of taking the big impacts without bottoming out.

The custom Specialized 2.1 motor represents the pinnacle of e-bike motor technology. The new motor is more efficient, 15% smaller, and 11% lighter than its predecessor. It has many other features that no other e-bike can touch, like instant engagement, fantastic heat management, a double freewheel design that disengages the gear box when you hit top speed, and silent, smooth, and consistent output—even at max power.

The Levo’s Turbo Connect Unit (or “TCU”) is more than an “On-Off” button—it’s the brains of the bike. The TCU shows your battery level and power-assist mode. It also communicates, via ANT+/Bluetooth®, with their optional handlebar display to display even more information about your day’s ride. This Turbo’s new Specialized M2-series battery features a 500Wh capacity. And, of course, still seamlessly integrated inside the frame and is easily removable, too.

They designed the Turbo Levo Comp to be a proper trail bike, first and foremost. It takes geo, kinematics, and design cues from their newest trail bikes, like the Stumpjumper, and adds industry-leading tech that gives you the power to ride more trails. New motor? Check. New battery? Check. Incredibly lightweight and capable chassis? Check and double-check.

The Turbo Levo Comp’s new Specialized M2-series battery features a 700Wh capacity, which increases your range by a staggering 40%. They integrated that battery seamlessly inside the frame and made it easy to remove with a single hex wrench.

Here’s where the gloves come off—the Turbo Levo Expert Carbon sheds serious weight with its advanced carbon front triangle and brings a high level of technical capability with a FOX 36 fork and DPS shock.

The Levo Expert Carbon is all about delivering the best possible bang for your buck. Example? They shed serious weight by going with a carbon front triangle yet kept costs down with the addition of an M5 alloy rear end. That combination yields a bike that is not only light, but also stiff and responsive. They designed this bike to shred and that meant giving the Levo a low bottom bracket, lengthy top tube, and short chainstays. They also tweaked the kinematics of the frame to make the suspension more supple on small hits and yet perfectly capable of taking the big impacts without bottoming out.

SPECIALIZED HARDTAIL

The Turbo Levo Hardtail takes everything that makes a speedy 29er fun and efficient…and then makes it even better How? Turbo technology. Their 1.2 E motor lends a powerful and natural-feeling boost to your peddling efforts. This is a bike built to take your trail riding up a gear, without exerting all that extra effort.

Specialized crafted the Turbo Levo Hardtail’s frame from M5 premium aluminium and given it a modern trail geometry to create a ride that combines confident handling, maximum efficiency, and tons of speed. The frame also features an integrated battery mount at the down tube for fast and easy battery removal, plus a forged and braced motor mount at bottom bracket. This keeps the bike sleek and perfectly balances its weight distribution.

A SR Suntour XCM32 brings 100mm of front suspension to the Levo Hardtail.

Shimano hydraulic disc brakes offer great modulation and years of consistent, powerful braking.

Their 1.2 E motor intuitively reacts to the force of your peddling to deliver just the right amount of power. The motor is belt driven, keeping vibrations low for the smoothest and most silent ride possible. The M1-400 battery brings communicates directly with the Trail Display and ANT+/Bluetooth® module through their unique Mission Control App.

SPECIALIZED TOWN BIKES

Turbo Como is all about making you feel good. The ride is as smooth as it looks, and Turbo Como’s efficient design helps you get more out of every pedal. Ride until your cheeks can’t stand your smile. COMO is the traditional step through, Dutch style, VADO the cross-bar version.  There are 2 models per range – the 3.0 and 4.0.

SPECIALIZED TURBO VADO SL

No other e-bike has range, power, and ride quality like this, let alone at a weight that’s light enough to carry.  Pedal, then go—over hills and past traffic. Cruise for up to 80 miles. And at 40% lighter than the average e-bike, it’s built to bring with you: up the stairs, down the hall, and everywhere you go.  Turbo Vado SL delivers the security of an integrated 320Wh internal battery with up to 130 kilometres of range, plus the flexibility of an optional Range Extender that adds up to 64 kilometres of peddling assistance. The Range Extender is also fully removable and compact, so charging is easy wherever you go.  On the higher spec bikes – the 5.0 and 5.0 EQ – Future Shock brings ultralight suspension to your ride, reducing the harsh feel of rough roads and terrain by nearly 40% compared to bikes with bulky, heavier suspension forks.

By using Specialized’s unique mission control you can connect your bike to your phone and change everything: Get where you are going with plenty of charge by controlling the power output, diagnose potential service needs, record and share ride info with friends and even give you bike it’s own custom name.

SPECIALIZED GRAVEL BIKES

What is it about gravel that’s so appealing? Is it the break from hectic city streets and cars? Is it the audible crunch of rocks beneath your tires? Or maybe it’s just the feeling of adventure? Whatever it is, the Turbo Creo SL EVO is here to assist you further into the forest, down the gravel road, or on your next adventure. It features the same motor, battery, and frame as its road-oriented cousin, but takes advantage of tire clearance and adds in some adventure-ready components to take you wherever your heart desires. It’s you, only faster.

The Turbo Creo SL Comp Carbon EVO features out Fact 11r carbon chassis. Yes, that’s the same one on the S-Works model, and you’ll also get a Future Shock 2.0. For the spec, we included a 1x Shimano GRX group to take on shifting and braking duties, while DT R470 Boost™ wheels get wrapped in wide 38mm Pathfinder Pro tires to keep you rolling fast and free on either pavement or dirt. And for the saddle, you’ll find that our fan-favourite Body Geometry Power Sport provides plenty of comfort, while the X-Fusion Manic Dropper Post comes in handy when the descents get a little hairy.

The Creo SL is the lightest e-bike in its class—literally kilograms lighter than the competition. Not only does the lightweight and stiff FACT 11r carbon frame inspire dancing on the pedals and diving into corners, but it also reduces overall system weight and increases the range.

The lightweight SL 1.1 motor doubles your effort with as much as 240 watts of silent and powerful assistance to amplify your ride. The motor’s responsive torque curve delivers power perfectly in-tune with your normal riding cadence and leaves no resistance when riding unassisted.

Battery anxiety? Not on the Creo SL. With up to 80 miles of range from the internal battery, the Creo SL eats up big miles and long days. Their optional range extender provides up to 40 additional miles of mountain-flattening power.

By connecting with their Mission Control App, you’re able to tune the SL 1.1 motor to your riding style, record rides, and monitor the battery. The app can handle battery management automatically too, ensuring the battery will last as long as you need it to. The motor even has a built-in power meter that transmits to any ANT+ head unit. Don’t want to connect? No worries— the Turbo Connect Unit (TCU) on the top tube gives you all the control you need to ride.

With the Future Shock 2.0, you’ll feel a reduction in fatigue and an increase in speed, no matter the terrain. The 2.0 iteration gives you more control via a knob atop the stem. This knob adjusts compression from fully-open to stiff, while hydraulically-damped internals control rebound. The new Smooth Boot, top cap, and Future Stem also enhance the aesthetic, so you get a clean transition from head tube to stem.

Specialized learned there can be more difference between two male cyclists than between a male and female. Gender alone doesn’t provide enough data to specialise. It means that separating bikes as male or female is arbitrary and outdated. With this in mind, they’ve developed a geometry that’s best-fit for all riders. One that’s comfortable and snappy on the road, yet features all of the attributes you’d want from a proper gravel bike—a long wheelbase, raked-out fork, and low bottom bracket that keeps the Turbo Creo SL EVO stable at high speeds and delivers control in corners.
