The EBIKE Cafe @ Deheers on Custom House Quay on Weymouth’s old harbourside has been one of Weymouth’s lockdown success stories. They are bringing a very green free event to Weymouth harbourside on Thursday 9th and Friday 10th September.
They have partnered with the iconic Californian market-leading e-Bike brand “Specialized” to bring an innovative FREE e-Bike ride experience.
It’s your chance to ride the Specialized e-Bike range on a self-guided 25-minute test ride around Weymouth to find out how you could go greener and swap your four wheels to two wheels.
Stefan Fuchs from Specialized tells us more about the event, “Specialized are privileged to be hosting an e-bike experience with the team at EBIKE Café, one of the leading electric bike specialists with an equally impressive quayside store in Weymouth. We want to give you the opportunity to try out our range of capable, efficient and exceptionally comfortable electric bikes, designed to take on everything from daily commutes to fast workouts and longer-than-planned adventures. With two motor systems and three frame shapes to choose from, we have the right bike for every person.
We look forward to welcoming you on the day!”
Switching from cars to electrically-assisted bicycles (e-Bikes) for short car travels has the capability to cut car carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in England by up to 50% (about 30 million tonnes per year). Based on a study carried out by CREDS (Centre for Research into Energy Demand Solutions) researchers at the University of Leeds.
The FREE Specialized e-Bike Ride Experience is at the EBIKE Cafe @ Deheers on Thursday 9th and Friday 10th September from 9am to 4.45pm each day and each rider will receive a complimentary beverage from the café. All safety equipment is provided and the whole event will be run in with COVIDSafe protocols in place – all you need to do is book your place!
